EVERETT — The USS Ford is scheduled to return to its homeport at Naval Station Everett about 10 a.m. Sunday following a deployment to southeast Asia.

Under the leadership of Cdr. John Wilshusen, the crew of the Ford, a fast frigate, participated in a series of exercises designed to foster international relations and work with the navies of five Asian countries, a naval station spokesman said.

The Ford and other U.S. warships conducted naval exercises with the navies of the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. The Ford crew also visited Indonesia, where they participated in more than 30 community relations projects.
