County budget hearing open for public comment

Snohomish County residents will have a chance to say what they think should be cut and saved in the 2009-10 budget at a public hearing Wednesday.

The county’s books are expected to run $10 million short by the end of this year, so the two-year budget that will be created and approved by the end of November must address the shortfall and find ways to save money in the future.

County leaders, including the County Council and Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon, will speak at the hearing and listen to the concerns of county taxpayers.

The hearing is 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Jackson Board Room on the eighth floor of the Robert J. Drewel Building in the county government campus at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.
