Monroe

Ask questions about schools’ performance

Monroe Public Schools is hosting a community discussion on academic achievement at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library at Monroe Middle School, 351 Short Columbia St.

Monroe is one of 57 school districts in the state to not meet the federal requirements known as adequate yearly progress. Even with gains in reading and science, school board members and staff continue to be concerned with the scores students are earning on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning.

District residents are encouraged to send in topics or questions to Opening_Doors@monroe.wednet.edu.
