Changes proposed for riverfront plan

San Diego developer Oliver McMillan aims to raise height limits for some buildings, reĀ­arrange where it places some residential buildings and change how it restores some wetlands as part of a 221-acre outdoor shopping mall planned along the Snohomish River.

The city of Everett offers a 41-page addendum to the Everett Riverfront development’s environmental impact report, which includes the proposed changes.

The Everett Planning Commission is scheduled to review the revised environmental document at 7 tonight at Everett Station’s Weyerhaeuser Room, 3201 Smith Ave.

School’s play helps children’s museum

Drama students at Marysville Arts and Technology High School are performing a play to raise money for the Everett Children’s Museum.

The students are staging “The Robin Hood Caper” at 7 p.m. Friday and at 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $7. All proceeds from the 1 p.m. showing will benefit the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett.

The play will be at Arts and Technology High School, 7204 27th Ave. NE, Tulalip.

Marines seek toys for holiday toy drive

The U.S. Marine Corps invites the public to participate in the Toys for Tots Campaign.

Marines plan to greet the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Haggen Food &Drug stores in Stanwood, Arlington, Marysville and Lake Stevens.

The stores will accept donations of cash and new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 20.

Lighthouse gift shop to open on weekend

The gift shop at the Mukilteo Light Station is scheduled to be open for holiday shopping Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. both days. The gift shop is located next to the lighthouse at 608 Front St.

Santa Claus will visit from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, with hot drinks and Christmas readings by Historical Society volunteers.

After this weekend, the lighthouse and gift shop will close until April 2009. For more information, call 425-356-2778.

Correction

An accident Sunday that killed two Everett men occurred on Riverview Road. The name of the road was incorrectly reported in a story on Page B2 Monday.
