SNOHOMISH — Glacier Peak overcame an age and height disadvantage to hand Mariner its second Wesco South loss on Thursday night at Glacier Peak High School. Junior Brandon Hill led the Grizzlies to the 54-46 victory with a game-high 23 points, including five 3-pointers.

After keeping the game close through the first three quarters, Glacier Peak broke away in the final period to outscore the Marauders 19-7.

“We were down by four going into the fourth and a lot of our guys stepped up and made plays,” Glacier Peak coach Brian Hunter said. “No one guy did it all.”

Solid rebounding by the young Grizzlies limited Mariner players to one shot in the final quarter. Sophomore Jack Bonner led Glacier Peak in rebounds with five.

“Nick Persha started the game strong and Drew Cummins had a good floor game and handled the ball well,” Hunter said.

Tevin Dillon led Mariner with 11 points and Nick Malysheff added eight.
