More third period stuff

Yesterday I looked at the times Everett lost two-goal leads in the third period. Well, in an effort full disclosure, today I figured I’d dig a little deeper into the box scores and find the times Everett overcame two-goal deficits in the third period. For all I know, they’ve offset those third-period collapses by their own third-period comebacks.

Anyway, here’s what I found. Here are the times Everett trailed by two or more goals in the third period and came back to tie it:

– Oct. 15 at Vancouver, trailed 2-0 going into the third period and 3-1 with four minutes remaining, won 4-3 in a shootout.

– Oct. 17 vs. Kelowna, led 4-3 going into the third period, fell behind 6-4, then won 8-6.

(Those happened to be back-to-back games, what a week, huh?)

So, as best as I could determine, Everett’s had two big third-period comebacks this season, versus five big third-period collapses. All five of the collapses took place since the two comebacks.
