Boeing engineers at the company’s defense site in Wichita, Kan., voted down a company contract offer for the second time Thursday night.

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace represent 700 engineers in Wichita. About 68 percent of the members who voted Thursday rejected the contract. However, the SPEEA members also narrowly rejected a motion giving union leaders strike authorization.

Engineers there rejected Boeing’s previous offer, essentially the same contract, in February.
