Stickney’s free throws lift Lake Stevens to win

Sean Stickney made two free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining to give the Lake Stevens boys basketball team a 50-49 victory over Eisenhower in a loser-out game Friday at the Class 4A state tournament in the Tacoma Dome.
The victory assured Lake Stevens (22-5) of a state placing. The Vikings play Redmond at 11:30 a.m. Saturday to decide fifth and eighth places.
Stickney finished the game with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Teammate Ryan Legg added 14 points.
