The world’s friendliest casino has added a new term to its vocabulary: 24/7.
On March 1, Angel of the Winds Casino opened the doors to its new poker room and keno lounge. With that grand opening, the casino also began opening its doors to “the world’s friendliest players” 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Eric Larsen, director of marketing, is thrilled to see the progress of the casino’s recent expansion from 22,000 to 84,000 square feet. “We’ve added a lot of new amenities based on what guests were asking for,” he said.
Within the eight-table poker room, Texas hold ’em, seven-card stud and Omaha high-low tournaments are held daily. “We’ve continued our world’s friendliest theme by developing our own menu and gear promotions specific to poker players,” Larsen said.
The keno lounge uses old school ball drops instead of electronic keno machines. “Our guests like the ability to see the live play,” Larsen said. “It creates a friendlier guest experience.”
Also new to the casino is the Watershed Restaurant and Lounge. The full-service restaurant offers a diverse menu ranging from tasty salads to mouth-watering prime rib.
In the summer, guests will enjoy outside dining alongside a waterfall and two fire pits.
The renovations to Katie’s Kitchen and the Bear’s Den Lounge will soon be complete, with an anticipated opening date of early April. Katie’s Kitchen will shine with a 1950s diner theme, its popular 99-cent specials, and 24/7 service.
Live entertainment has also found its place at Angel of the Winds. Each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, a diverse group of bands perform everything from country and rock to Motown and the oldies. The entertainment lineup is posted on the casino’s Web site, with performances taking place between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.
Angel of the Winds Casino is located three minutes east of I-5 at Exit 210 in Arlington. For more information, see www.angelofthewinds.com.
