Boys soccer
Marysville-Pilchuck goalkeeper Kyle Bluhm made key saves at the end of the Tomahawks’ shootout triumphs over Gig Harbor and Issaquah in the 4A state tournament. Bluhm, a sophomore, and his teammates advanced to the state semifinals for the first time in program history.
Girls track
Edmonds-Woodway’s Katie Tougas won the 100- and 200-meter sprints Friday at the 4A District 1 meet in Shoreline. She also ran the opening leg for two first-play relay teams, which both set meet records.
Baseball
Cedarcrest’s Mark Bishop pitched a complete game in the Red Wolves’ 8-2 victory over Kingston in the 2A Region 1 championship. Bishop had six strikeouts and held Kingston scoreless for six innings.
Boys golf
Meadowdale’s Geoff Burks won the 3A District 1 tournament at Lake Padden Golf Course in Bellingham with a two-round total of 150 (77-73).
Boys track
Everett’s Malaki Seanoa broke the district record in the javelin Friday at the 3A District 1 meet in Edmonds. Seanoa’s winning throw — his first try of the day — traveled 197 feet, 8 inches. It is the longest throw by a 3A competitor in the state this season.
Girls golf
Everett’s Jody Barhanovich shot a two-round total of 160 (84-76) to win the 3A District 1 championships by four strokes and help lead the Seagulls to their third consecutive district team title.
Girls tennis
Everett’s Julie Mills won the 3A District 1 singles championship Wednesday at Mount Vernon High and qualified for the state tournament.
Softball
Mountlake Terrace’s McKenzie Dessin was 3-for-4 with three RBI Thursday in Mountlake Terrace’s 3-0 victory over Cascade in the 4A District 1 championship game. Terrace reached the state softball tournament for the first time since 1997.
