Woman, 19, missing on Pilchuck River found safe

SNOHOMISH — A 19-year-old woman missing earlier on the Pilchuck River was found safe this evening.

Rescue crews were preparing to search the river between Lake Stevens and Snohomish after the woman went missing around 2:30 p.m., Snohomish County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Dittoe said.

The woman was with a friend floating down the river in an inner tube when she got separated from her friend.

Rescuers pulled her off a logjam about 5:30 this evening and she wasn’t seriously hurt, Dittoe said. “Logjams can be really dangerous,” he said.
