Everett chamber seeks nominees for Business Excellence Awards

There are backs in need of patting out there, and the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce wants to know where they are.

The chamber is accepting nominees for their annual Business Excellence Awards, most notably the Henry M. Jackson award for exemplary service to the local business community.

Unlike the chamber’s other awards, you don’t have to be a member to win the Jackson award. They’re looking for someone who demonstrates a strong effort to do the following:

  • Improve the free and competitive enterprise system of business by creating a greater appreciation of the value of the commitment of oneself to the business interests of the Everett area.
  • Enhance business and community growth and development by promoting civic, social and cultural programs designed to improve the functional and aesthetic values of the community.
  • Design economic programs that strengthen and expand the income potential of the commerce arena.
  • For more on how to nominate someone for this award and others, visit the chamber’s Web site. Nominations are due August 21.

If you’re thinking of nominating a local business owner, let me know. I’m always looking for exceptional business people to write about.
