NHL draft update No.1: Cameron Abney

Surprise, surprise. Cameron Abney, not Byron Froese, was Everett’s first player drafted today. The right wing was taken in the third round, 82nd overall, by the Edmonton Oilers.

Also going in the third round was Everett list player Josh Birkholz. The right winger who’s headed to the NCAAs was selected 67th overall by the Florida Panthers.
