Tips news from L.A.

Aaron Maxwell, Tips left wing Tyler Maxwell’s father, sent me a quick note about the Los Angeles Kings’ development camp, which took place last week. Tyler Maxwell, of course, was one of the invitees.
However, Aaron Maxwell’s comments weren’t about his son, but rather about Everett import pick Radko Gudas, who was also an undrafted invitee. Here’s what he had to say:
“Got a chance this weekend to see the Everett import draft pick from the Czech Republic, Radko Gudas, at the LA Kings development camp here in El Segundo. The Tips have got themselves one heck of an addition on D. This kid is solid! He has got decent size, he is fierce, very physical, clears the front of the net very well, good skater and is consistent. He has been the talk of the D men amongst the coaches and scouting staff. Considering that he is competing with WHL stars, Thomas Hickey and Colten Teubert. He has been the most solid of all the D throughout the weekend.”

As for Tyler Maxwell’s performance at the camp, I did some digging around and found a report of him scoring at least one goal during scrimmages, as well as a video of him scoring a goal during a shootout. Letsgokings.com has a thread where each of the players at camp were evaluated.
