Turkish Airlines has finalized a tentative order for seven A330s that it had placed with Airbus during the Paris Air Show.
These are the first A330s for Turkish Airlines, though the carrier has been an Airbus customer since 1985. Airbus is scheduled to begin delivering the A330s in September 2010.
“Our in-service experience with the Airbus A330 has demonstrated the low operating costs and high level of cabin comfort that this aircraft offers,” said Dr Candan Karlitekin, chairman of Turkish Airlines, in a statement. “This made it the logical choice for a repeat order to allow us to efficiently achieve our targeted growth.”
Through the end of July, Airbus has won 118 net orders and 140 gross orders.
