Woman arrested on roof

EVERETT — Officers trying to figure out who fired a gun inside a north Everett apartment on Tuesday found a woman clinging to sloped, second-story roof.

She lived next door to the apartment where at least one shot was fired through the floor, Everett police Lt. Jim Duffy said. The gunfire wasn’t what sent the neighbor scrambling out her window, though; it was an unrelated arrest warrant.

Officers pulled her safely inside and took her into custody, Duffy said.

Police had rushed to the subdivided house at Everett Avenue and W. Marine View Drive after receiving a 911 call at 5:38 p.m.

A man and a woman in the apartment where the shot was fired told police they were victims of a home-invasion robbery, Duffy said. They had not placed the 911 call and their descriptions of the suspect, however, were “polar opposites,” he said. The two were detained for questioning.
