Front Porch: Watch TV, maybe solve a murder

A Snohomish County unsolved homicide will be featured tonight on KCPQ-13 Fox’s weekly program “Washington’s Most Wanted.”
Snohomish County sheriff’s detective Jim Scharf will ask for tips about the 1995 death of Patti Berry. The Arlington woman was reported missing after she didn’t return home from her job at Honey’s, a strip club. Her body was found Aug. 8, 1995, in a wooded area behind the Everett Mall.
The program will air at 10:30 tonight and Saturday. Anyone with information about Berry’s death or any other unsolved homicides is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 800-222-8477.
Benefit for family of Scott Larsen: Co-workers at the Boeing Co. are planning two benefits for the family of Scott Larsen of Lake Stevens, who died this week after an unexpected illness.
A car wash is planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Les Schwab, 923 Vernon Road at Frontier Village.
And the 2009 Scott Larsen Classic golf benefit and picnic lunch is planned for Oct. 3 in Mountlake Terrace.

Give to the animals: The Camano Animal Shelter Association depends on donations to fund its work at the shelter.
The organization’s annual Forever Home benefit auction is set for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Camano Senior and Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.
Tickets are $35 at the door or $25 in advance at the animal shelter by calling 360-387-1189.
