WEST FARGO, N.D. — A caution flag is being thrown on the future of the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, and the facility is in danger of being black-flagged.
Red River Valley Fair Board President David Strand says the half-mile track is not profitable. The board plans to schedule a special meeting to talk about the track’s future.
A financial report for the speedway shows a $13,237 net income. But fair General Manager Bryan Schulz says about $68,000 in track-related expenses not on the report put the speedway in the red. He says it’s not fiscally responsible to keep losing that much money.
One option being discussed is leasing the track to an independent party.
