Another 787 cancellation for Boeing

The Boeing Co. is facing another cancellation for its 787 Dreamliner.

TUI Travel said Tuesday that it’s in talks with Boeing to cancel 10 of its 23 Dreamliner jets on order. But the travel group will add options for 13 787s, the company said in a statement on its Web site.

“TUI Travel continues to believe that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the ideal aircraft for

its airline’s long-haul requirements. Not only will it be able to fly greater distances

than equivalent aircraft today but it will do so with greater fuel efficiency and

additional comfort for our customers,” the company said.

“We have been in extensive discussions with Boeing, however, and it is the intention

of both parties to agree to cancel ten of the 23 787 aircraft that we had on order,” the statement continued.

Boeing already has received 73 order cancellations on its delayed 787 Dreamliner in 2009.
