Health fair Wednesday
In 2007, 1.9 million older adults were treated in hospital emergency rooms for fall-related injuries, said Jo Olson, executive director of the Stillaguamish Senior Center.
Of those, 491,500 were hospitalized.
Olson encourages seniors to attend “Rise Up Against Falling,” planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Boulevard in Arlington.
It’s about learning how not to fall, as well as a health fair. Flu shots will also be available from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m.
Camp for parents and preschoolers in Marysville: “Playgroup with a Purpose,” a parent-and-child program, is planned for Thursdays through Nov. 5.
The Camp Fire USA and Marysville Parks and Recreation program is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. at the Marysville Public Library, 6120 Grove St.
The program for children in preschool aims to encourage skill building, development of small and large muscle groups, language and social skills to help children get ready for kindergarten.
The cost is $25. Please register in advance. For more information, call 360-363-8400.
