50 YEARS AGO (1960)
A girl from Everett High School and a boy from South Junior High School, Mary Maynard and Chris Dyre, were honored yesterday as girl and boy of the month at the noon luncheon of the Exchange Club. Presentations were made by Bob Crumbaugh and Howard Wold.
Northwest Rabbit Breeders Association was having a hobo dinner at the Martha Lake Community Club. Max Vaughn would show films on different rabbit breeds and Barbara Lang would give a talk on preparing and choosing rabbits for shows.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
Area residents were advised to check their wood-burning stoves and fireplace inserts for proper installation in the wake of an increasing number of chimney fires, Everett Fire Marshal Walt Cooper warned. Only seasoned wood should be used and the units should be properly adjusted.
Snohomish County Cooperative Extension agent Rick Reisinger said merging the Snohomish County farm map with a farm map published by the Puget Sound Farm Markets Association would provide a list of agricultural farm outlets throughout the Puget Sound region.
