Concert in Everett to aid relief in Haiti

Published 2:31 pm Thursday, January 28, 2010

As technical director for the Historic Everett Theatre, Mike Olson put together a benefit concert tonight for the American Red Cross.

“All the performers are donating their time and talents,” Olson said.

He said the theater provided the venue and the advertising so that 100 percent of ticket sales will go to the American Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts.

Five local acts are set to perform. Daniel Kamas, a Seattle singer-songwriter who headlined at a recent Hometown Hootenanny at the theater, agreed to participate in the charitable event, along with Brad Loomis, Scene Change, the Neil Diamond tribute band Cherry Cherry and the Back Porch Blues Band.

“The American Red Cross” benefit concert is set for 7:30 tonight at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $10 per person at the box office. The show is suitable for all ages.
