Oak Harbor wins in baseball

SEATTLE — Junior Ben Cardinal, in his first varsity Wildcat at-bat, drilled a 3-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give Oak Harbor a 13-11 victory over Ballard in the season-opening non-conference game.
Catcher Brad Farnum was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and teammate Peter Franssen had a pair of hits, including a triple, to lead the Wildcat offensive attack.
Gabe Clark threw five innings of relief and earned the win for the Wildcats, who collected 10 hits on the day.
Kyler Korsmo had a home run and a double for the Beavers.
