SPOKANE — A very familiar graduate will walk across the stage at Gonzaga University’s commencement on Sunday. Ronny Turiaf will receive his degree in sports management, four years after leaving Gonzaga as one of the best basketball players in school history.
Turiaf, who plays for the Golden State Warriors of the NBA, is one of 48 Gonzaga athletes who will receive diplomas.
Athletic director Mike Roth said Turiaf is a great role model for finishing his degree after he was drafted by the NBA.
Also getting degrees Sunday are men’s basketball star Matt Bouldin and women’s stars Heather Bowman and Vivian Frieson.
