Pack snacks without the plastic bag

“They stick to our fences, alight in our trees, drift down our sidewalks and swirl in our seas.

“They’re a pollutant on which the sea creatures feed. They’re plastic bags, our urban tumbleweeds.”

That about sums up the poetic marketing campaign for ReUsies, a line of cotton Velcro-seal baggies for sandwiches and snacks.

The reusable, BPA-free bags, the brainy idea of two Seattle women, are lined with water-resistant nylon. They’re meant to stop the endless stream of plastic resealable bags you send to school or take to work every day.

ReUsies can be machine washed and dried, run through in the dishwasher, or simply wiped clean with a soapy sponge and air dried.

They come in a variety of cute, colorful designs, solid patterns mixed with adorable prints. There’s a sandwich size for $8.75 (7½-by-6-inch) and a snack size for $6.75 (6-by-5-inch).
