Driver charged in Highway 522 crash in Monroe

MONROE — A driver was cited for second-degree negligent driving following a crash Thursday on Highway 522 that injured two others.

The crash occurred near 179th Avenue in Monroe. The driver told investigators that he had fallen asleep at the wheel, said Debbie Willis, spokeswoman for Monroe police.

No update was available Tuesday on the two other drivers injured, but their injuries were not life-threatening, she said.
