Fire safety spokesdog turns 60

Safety initiatives tied to spring cleaning have a special plug this year: It’s Sparky The Fire Dog’s 60th birthday.
The National Fire Protection Association launched a ton of free games and activities for kids to learn about fire prevention along with celebrating Sparky’s birthday.

Parents can download free, fun Sparky the Fire Dog party kits as well. Some of the items are pretty adorable.
Also, you should check on extension cords and electrical wiring in your home as part of your spring cleaning. Wiring and cords that are damaged, not up to code or are loosely connected create fire risks.
