MONROE — An Everett man, 53, was seriously injured after being struck by a car Tuesday night in Monroe. He was carrying his 3-year-old granddaughter at the time, but she was unhurt.
The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of N Kelsey Street and U.S. 2.
A Monroe man, 36, was turning right in a 2004 Dodge Durango. The pedestrians were in the crosswalk, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
The Everett man was taken to a local hospital with head injuries, Willis said. The girl, of Monroe, also was taken to the hospital to be checked over.
The crash remained under investigation Tuesday night.
