SEATTLE — A man arrested for throwing a cigarette at a park ranger Wednesday night in Seattle’s Westlake Park was the 54th person arrested during this month’s ongoing demonstration at the downtown park.
Most of the arrests have come as police enforced rules against camping in the park. Spokeswoman Renee Witt said Thursday the tally is up to 54.
A ranger was telling a man with a sleeping bag about the no-camping rule Wednesday night when police say he tossed a lit cigarette at the ranger. The 20-year-old man was jailed for investigation of assault.
