MONROE — Police are investigating two suspected cases of attempted child luring. It’s not clear whether they’re connected.

On Oct. 24, a man in a red minivan reportedly approached a 7-year-old girl on 169th Avenue SE near a park, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said. The man asked the girl where she lived.

Then, around 4 p.m. Wednesday, a woman in a red minivan reportedly approached three children who had just gotten off the school bus near the intersection of 173rd Avenue SE and W. Main Street, Willis said.

The driver is described as an older woman with blond hair. There was a teenage boy with long blond hair in the passenger seat who reportedly asked the children if they wanted candy.

The children, a girl, 11, and two boys, both 5, told their parents.
