Former Port Orchard cop convicted of assault

PORT ORCHARD — A former Port Orchard police officer convicted of pushing his girlfriend out a window faces more than 15 years in prison when he is sentenced next Thursday for assault.
The Kitsap Sun reports a Kitsap County Superior Court jury convicted Dennis L. McCarthy, 49, on Thursday after a three-week trial.
He said the woman fell out the second-floor window last November while hanging curtains.
