3 killed in crash on icy road in Lewis County

ETHEL — A semi truck slammed into a pickup that lost control on an icy road in Lewis County, killing three people.

KOMO-TV reported that it happened in Ethel, 13 miles southeast of Chehalis, Saturday morning. The Washington State Patrol said the pickup spun sideways and slid across the center line into the path of the semi.

The pickup’s driver, a 49-year-old Rochester man, was killed, along with two passengers, a 44-year-old man from Centralia and a 46-year-old man from Rochester.

The semi’s driver was not hurt. Authorities said the semi’s driver was not at fault and will not be charged.
