Photographer will share stories about 12-day birding adventure in Alaska

Talk about where the wild things are. And in this case, we don’t mean monsters.
Wildlife photographer Dan Streiffert visited the Marsh Fork of the Canning River, a river on Alaska’s North Slope that is home to 42 mammal species, 36 fish species and more than 160 bird species.
Many of these birds migrate to and from all 50 states and six continents to feed and reproduce, taking advantage of the burst of biological growth which blossoms during the long days of the Arctic summer.
Streiffert will be the guest speaker at the January meeting of the Pilchuck Audubon Society where he will be giving the program, “Rafting the Marsh Fork of the Canning River.”
Streiffert will share photos from his 12-day birding adventure along the western boundary of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
