Help feed the shelter

The Everett Animal Shelter is accepting donations of canned dog food, preferably Kirkland brand, Iams, Science Diet and Nature’s Recipe.

Donations can be dropped off at the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road, Everett.

The Everett Animal Shelter cares for and houses lost or unwanted pets from Everett and most of Snohomish County.

Shelter staff and volunteers work to prepare unwanted animals for adoption. The shelter has a solid volunteer program and welcomes new volunteers.

Jack &Jill Sale: A resale children’s event will be held Friday through Sunday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW, Lynnwood.

Jack &Jill organizes more than 200 local consignors, vendors and sponsors, bringing tens of thousands of children’s items (birth to age 12) and maternity items under one roof. This spring’s seasonal sale will offer more than 13,000 square feet of items at bargain prices.

The independently run sale focuses on families as well as local, mom-owned businesses.

The sale is open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to www.thejackandjillsale.com.

Titanic connections: The 100th anniversary of the day the Titanic sank is coming up in April.

The ship hit an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean and sank on April 15, 1912, during its maiden voyage from England to New York City.

If you have a connection to the Titanic — or a strong interest in the ship — and would like to tell your story, email Amy Daybert at adaybert@heraldnet.com or call 425-339-3491.
