Prep softball: Granite Falls sweeps twinbill against Lakewood

ARLINGTON — The Granite Falls softball team improved to 12-0 in Cascade Conference play after earning two wins against Lakewood on Tuesday.
The Tigers won the first game 11-1 in five innings, completing a game that was suspended in the first inning on April 8 with Granite Falls leading 4-1. Harding hit a two-run triple and Caitlinn Santiesteban and Kelsey Bechtholdt each homered for the Tigers.
The Cougars’ offense came to life in game 2, hitting four home runs, but the Tigers rallied with four runs in the sixth inning to earn a 9-7 win. Lakewood’s Kiana Smith hit two solo home runs. Terah Bario and Alexis Lampinen also went deep for the Cougars. Emily Fitzgerald homered for the Tigers and finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
