MILL CREEK — With senior guard Faithleen Lopez-Flores out of the lineup, the Jackson girls basketball team had three players score in double figures to lead the Timberwolves to a 47-44 victory over Shorecrest in a non-league contest.

Imari Clinton and Olivia Miller each scored 12 points and Drew Locknane added 11 to help the Timberwolves earn their second victory of the season.

“I was really happy with the balance,” Timberwolves head coach Mark Haner said. “We moved the ball well in the halfcourt.”

The Timberwolves jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and then outscored the Scots 17-8 in the third quarter before Shorecrest made their fourth quarter run. Jackson hit six free throws in the final period and knocked down five 3-pointers on the night, all of which came in the first and third quarters, as the Timberwolves ended their three game losing streak.

“We were managing to score a lot off of their defense, and we were also having some success against their zone,” Haner said.

Wurrie Njadoe and Jazzlyn Owens each scored 10 points for the Scots.
