Prep girls basketball: Shorecrest 63, Lakewood 40

SHORELINE — Wurrie Njadoe scored a game-high 15 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as Shorecrest defeated Lakewood in the opening round of the 2A Girls District 1 Tournament. Marissa Blair scored 14 points and Hayley Senyitko added 10 for the Cougars.

Uju Chibuogwu (13), Sheridan Stephenson (12) and Jazzlyn Owens (11) joined Njadoe in double figures.

The Scots advance to play Burlington-Edison at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon High School. Lakewood will face Sehome at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Skagit Valley College.
