Road to Spada Lake recreation sites is open again

After a closure for roadwork, the south shore road at Spada Lake is open again, according to the Snohomish County PUD.

The road to Spada Lake itself also re-opened recently after damage caused by flooding.

The restrooms and recreation sites are open, with one exception. The boat launch at site No. 3 on the south shore is temporarily closed. A log is blocking the access to the launch. Crews are working to clear that up.

There’s no snow at the area right now. The PUD noted a trace amount of snow at 3,600 feet last week, well above the reservoir, but even that may have melted by now.

There’s a new trail near Culmback Dam that leads down the Sultan River. Soon, the trail will be used by a kayakers when water is released from the dam for whitewater fun.
