LYNNWOOD — Police in Lynnwood believe they have caught up with a serial groper.

The suspect has been booked into the Lynnwood Jail for investigation of four counts of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested Tuesday on a misdemeanor warrant.

Police said he matched the description of a suspect in several assaults on women near 200th Street SW and 60th Avenue W.

The suspect allegedly confessed to those incidents as well as others that had not been reported to Lynnwood police. In three cases — occurring on June 23, 29 and 30 — a man approached women who were on the street, grabbed their buttocks and ran away.

The suspect also allegedly confessed to grabbing a woman’s chest at Edmonds Community College on May 13. Detectives are investigating any connection to a separate assault at EdCC, where a woman was attacked late at night while walking alone.

Lynnwood police are asking anyone who believes that they may have been assaulted by the suspect to call 911.
