Political candidate forum

Get to know the candidates for Snohomish County executive, County Council and the Everett City Council at an event Tuesday in Everett.

Local civic groups have invited candidates to participate in a forum scheduled from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. in the first floor meeting room of the county’s Robert Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave.

Ballots for the all-mail Aug. 4 primary are set to out Thursday. The top-two candidates in each race advance to the general election Nov. 3.

Another forum featuring the county positions and Lynnwood City Council contenders is planned for 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. July 22 at the Lynnwood Library, 19200 44th Ave. W.

Sponsors include the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County, Sno-Isle Libraries, the American Association of University Women and the Snohomish County Elections Division.

Ballinger Park plan: Mountlake Terrace city officials have planned a follow-up meeting Tuesday to discuss the future of the city park on the shore of Lake Ballinger.

Citizens are encouraged to attend starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Ballinger Clubhouse, 23000 Lakeview Drive, Mountlake Terrace.

City staff expect to present preferred options for the park’s master plan. People who attended a meeting June viewed three different plans.
