Sample brews Saturday at second annual Bothell Beer Fest

When it comes to beer, there’s quite a buzz going on in Bothell.
Recently opened, Beardslee Public House, which brews its own beer, joins Foggy Noggin Brewing (open since 2010) as proud Bothell brewers. Downtown Bothell welcomed The Hop and Hound, a taproom and bottleshop, last year and McMenamins’ Anderson School, a pub and hotel, this week.
This beer renaissance hasn’t gone unnoticed. Last fall, Bothell assistant city manager and craft beer fan Peter Troedsson teamed with The Hop and Hound owner Eric Schaffer to create the first-ever Bothell Beer Fest.
This year will be the second annual Bothell Beer Fest in downtown Bothell between Main Street and 183rd Street. Last year’s beer fest sold out quickly, and according to Schaffer, tickets, which are $20, are going fast.
The beer fest will have 18 breweries pouring beers, including a number of Bothell-area breweries Foggy Noggin, Brickyard Brewing, Twelve Bar Brews, Beardslee and Triplehorn Brewing.
There will be food available courtesy four food trucks and live music from The Dogtones, Michele D’Amour and the Love Dealers.
The Hop and Hound is the official after party, and will have a number of unique beers from Bothell breweries, including Beardslee’s CDA, fresh hop beers from Foggy Noggin and Triplehorn Brewing, and Dirty Bucket Brewing’s Scotch Ale.
