Christmas fair Saturday

Trinity Episcopal Church is having a St. Nicholas fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It features crafts, food and a chance to visit with St. Nicholas. The event is aimed at providing an alternative to commercial Christmas celebrations.

The church is located at 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett. For more information, call 425-252-4129.

Firefighters to serve meals: Lake Stevens firefighters plan to hold a fundraiser this weekend. They will host tables and collect extra tips from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Stevens Ixtapa restaurant across from Frontier Village. The money is used for Christmas presents for families identified by the Lake Stevens Family Center. The firefighters have held the annual fundraiser for more than a decade.

Church class canceled: An anger management seminar that was scheduled for Saturday at Bryant Community Church in Arlington has been canceled. For more information, contact the church at office@bryantcc.org or call 360-435-8311.

Reminder to parents: The lockdown planned for Riverview Elementary in Snohomish on Thursday is a safety drill, not a real incident.

Donate shoes, blankets: A shoe drive for the homeless is ongoing in the Lake Stevens area. It’s called “Soul to Sole” and is run by Tonya Christoffersen, who works at the local sewer district.

Shoes, winter clothing and toiletries will be accepted for the homeless shelter in Everett and other organizations. Collection boxes are posted at Coastal Community Bank in Snohomish, Task Properties, First American Title in Everett and Lynnwood, Williams Real Estate Brokers and any local government building in Lake Stevens.
