Skip Rock Distillers are releasing their Belle Rose Double Barrel Rum this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the distillery,104 Avenue C, Snohomish.
Belle Rose won best rum in SIP Northwest’s 2015 Best of the Northwest contest.
The rum is aged in used bourbon barrels and then put in used Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from a local winery.
SIP describes it like this: “From start to finish, Belle Rose Double Barrel Rum from this Snohomish, WA distillery is beautifully complex. At once leathery, woodsy and sweet on the nose, the first sip adds smoke, spice, dried tobacco and buttery oak to the mix, while the warm lingering finish brings still more characteristics: turbinado sugar, fig, golden raisin and a trace of fall spices.”
Skip Rock will also be hosting San Juan Cigar Company, which will be hand-rolling cigars on site from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The two companies have paired up on a tobacco blend that is infused with the Belle Rose rum. It will be available for purchase on Saturday only.
While you’re there, you can check out Skip Rock’s Nocino, one of my favorite liqueurs. Their Nocino, which is a liqueur made with green walnuts, was recently featured in the New York Times. The article points out that Nocino is an ideal drink for the holidays.
