Cascadia Art Museum: The new museum, located at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds, currently shows works featured in the Northwest Watercolor Society’s new book celebrating its 75th anniversary. The show runs through Jan. 3. Admission is $10. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, until 8 p.m. on Thursday and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Sacredness” features the work of Matika Wilbur and her photographic Project 562. Wilbur, of the Swinomish and Tulalip tribes, is crisscrossing the nation photographing people in each of the federally recognized tribes.

Artist Jan Tervonen has paintings on display through Dec. 17. Tervonen is a modern abstract painter who works primarily with watercolor and ink, influenced by Japanese art with its simple brushwork, shapes, and colors. She has developed a minimalistic abstract style with a wry sense of humor representative of her Finnish-American roots.

Schack Art Center: 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org. The Schack is featuring two-dimensional works by the guild Seattle Co-Arts during the annual Holiday Exhibit. In addition to these paintings, the Schack will be exhibiting a diverse selection of ceramic and glass by regional artists including Dan and Joi LaChaussee, Barry McAlister and Julia Wolf-Miller. The exhibit runs through 2 p.m. Dec. 24.

Janet Myer, local painter of American Indian heritage, shares the current exhibit with Eusha, a Russian-born artist who moved to Everett 20 years ago. Though of different origins, their cultures intersect in art, and art making. Both women find inspiration in the beauty of nature around. Through Jan. 8.

Skagit County

Museum of Northwest Art: 121 S. First St., La Conner; www.museumofnwart.org. “Not Vanishing: Contemporary Expressions in Indigenous Art, 1977-2015” through Jan. 3. Features more than 40 well-known artists from tribes throughout the region. The artists include Matika Wilbur (Tulalip/Swinomish) and Hank Gobin (Tulalip).

Seattle Art Museum: Go to www.seattleartmuseum.org. “Intimate Impressionism — From the National Gallery of Art” through Jan. 10. “Inopportune: Stage One,” the large-scale installation by renowned Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang, will be coming down beginning Jan. 19.
