Health fair offers free mammograms, blood tests, more

BOTHELL — Free mammograms, blood tests and dental checks are being offered Sunday at a health fair at the Sikh Centre of Seattle.
The event, open to the public, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, 20412 Bothell Everett Highway.
Medical services will be provided by volunteers from UW Medicine, Swedish and Molina Healthcare.
Dr. Anita Chopra, who specializes in internal medicine, said people are welcome to stop by and ask questions about medical issues.
“This is open to all,” she said.
Walk-in patients are welcome for both mammograms and dental checks, she said. Blood tests will check for diabetes and cholesterol levels. There will be blood pressure and body-mass tests. A blood drive also will be conducted.
About 200 people attended the event last year. The health fair is held in conjunction with the annual Vasaikhi celebrations marking the origin of Sikhism.
