Rasmussen hired as Edmonds-Woodway girls basketball coach

Jon Rasmussen has been hired as the girls basketball coach at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

The school announced the hiring Friday.

Rasmussen has 18 years of experience coaching girls basketball, including head-coaching stints at Lynnwood and Shorecrest high schools. He spent the past eight seasons as an assistant coach at Glacier Peak.

“Jon brings a passion for basketball and a commitment to helping players improve both on the court and in the classroom,” Edmonds-Woodway athletic director Angie McGuire said in a press release.

Rasmussen inherits a team that posted a 17-12 record last season and placed sixth in the Class 3A state tournament.
