EVERETT — A woman was arrested Friday afternoon after she reportedly claimed to have a grenade while attempting to rob a Chase Bank in Everett.
There was no grenade.
The woman, 49, allegedly threw a rock through the bank’s window, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. She walked into the bank along Everett Mall Way carrying a backpack at 12:20 p.m.
She then announced she had a grenade, according to police. A customer inside the bank tackled the woman. Police arrested her a short time later.
Police believe the woman may suffer from mental health issues, Snell said.
She was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
