Members of the U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman Action Group spent their spring break March 10-19 at the Everett Boys and Girls Club.

U.S. Marine Corps Major Richard Ruiz and 2nd Class Midshipmen Elizabeth Kim, Sarah Reilly, Enock Langat and Mac Glassford spent the week making improvements at the club, such as painting, as well as playing with the kids, and helping with tutoring and other academic programs.

“The Midshipmen provide not only a glimpse at a possible future for the kids, but are also stellar examples of the leadership, character and citizenship that we are trying to instill in our Club members,” said Ken Salem, development director of Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County.

The board president of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County is Troy McClelland, a Naval Academy graduate and rear admiral reservist.
