Navy Junior ROTC cadets from Marysville and Everett high schools competed in the Pacific Northwest Drill and Rifle Team Regionals Competition, held March 18 at Roger’s High School in Puyallup.

Marysville’s unarmed drill team earned first place. Cadets Fitzpatrick Varias and Joshua Docyuanan earned first place among unarmed dual teams. Cadet Micha Adriano took second place among individual drill team commanders.

Cadet Carol Kovalenko placed second out of 55 air rifle shooters and was the highest-ranking female shooter. Marysville’s air rifle team placed third overall.

Marysville’s Quil Ceda Battalion came in fourth overall out of more than two dozen teams.

Everett’s two color guard teams each placed third, while Cadet Henrik Kaiers placed second in unarmed drill down.

Everett’s Seagull Company came in sixth overall.

ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps.
