EVERETT — Dispatchers continued fielding 911 calls while firefighters extinguished small flames that had sparked on the roof of the emergency dispatch center in Everett on Monday.

A construction crew was working on the roof of the SNOPAC office along Everett Mall Way. The fire started around 11:20 a.m., Everett Fire Chief Eric Hicks said. Smoke carried through the vents and into the working space.

Hicks said that any damage to the roof would be small.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
